Did the House of Representatives have the option of using
more time to arrive at a decision for this vote?

Did these members succomb from political pressure and
hasten a vote for authorizing the US Military to go to war?

Rather than lay the complete blame on others, is it possible
that these members failed to perform due diligence on this
matter and accepted an argument for war at face value?

The same types of questions can be asked of the Senate.

The long endured single argument against the war in Iraq
is that the Bush Administration misled the country on the
existence of WMD. Would it not compound the damage
done to abandon any chance of reconciling these mistakes
by withdrawing from Iraq before some stability is achieved?

The Kurds know something of the effects of this from our
previous visit. Let’s not make more mistakes. A country’s
citizens standing together project strength to those who mean
us harm. All the inflamed rhetoric only accelerates partisan
politics and will only find us further off course. Let’s suspend
judgment and work to solve the problems. There will be
plenty of time to afix blame later.
