Geithner Crawls to China

Posted in Public Affairs, Money Matters, wordpress, Sean Hannity, News Media, United States, China, obama, Opinion, Foreign Affairs on June 2nd, 2009 by Stanford Matthews

After hearing on Hannity that Geithner was laughed at in China a little net surfing turned up some of the items below. Hannity suggested there would be little coverage on this from the MSM. Aside from blogs and a few non-MSM business sites it seems the suggestion was right on in terms of the American press. The report below is from the UK.

Geithner insists Chinese dollar assets are safe

US Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner was laughed at by an audience of Chinese students after insisting that China’s US assets are safe.

Here’s a challenge. Find the part of Geithner’s speech transcript that caused the laughter at Peking University. Okay, so maybe his insistence that China’s US assets are safe came from another exchange. (no pun intended)

Full Text of Geithner’s Speech at Peking University

Some reporting and commentary from a Chinese source on US-China relations including some discussion about Geithner, Pelosi and Clinton’s recent overtures toward the Chinese and downplaying of all their previous complaints. Funny how being broke will do that to ya.

China won’t pick up the tab for US financial woes

As Geithner goes begging to China for Barack Obama he has softened talk of China manipulating their currency. Recently he was criticized by China for saying they do manipulate their currency. And in the report below from April 2009 Geithner was again retreating on the Chinese currency manipulation claim. Which is it Tim? Oh that’s right, this is the guy who couldn’t properly submit a tax return with the help of Turbo Tax. And he’s the current Treasury Secretary of the United States arriving in China this week with his tail between his legs. Talk about not saving face.

US Treasury Says China Not Manipulating Currency

All in a day’s work at the Obamanation and we are merely observers as our elected representation is out of control.

Obama: Not WYSIWYG

Posted in Public Affairs, Money Matters, wordpress, Politics, Sean Hannity, campaign, election, youtube, Democrats, liberal, News Media, Video, obama, Opinion, Abortion, Energy on August 21st, 2008 by Stanford Matthews

From his policy on energy to avoiding any discussion on the book Obama Nation to infanticide or tax cut fables suggested in his campaign ads, Barack Obama is losing ground as his campaign fails to measure up to the hype. Once described as a disciplined staff careful not to stray from the campaign plan, the facts are becoming burdensome as his party worries about victory and maintaining party unity at their upcoming convention.

Obama’s silly suggestion about saving 4 cents on the dollar at the pump….

inflate your tires and save 4 cents

Corsi on Fox and Obama’s idea of refuting its content….

Obama makes jokes rather than challenging the charges

Obama cannot escape his preference for infanticide…..

Obama favors infanticide

Obama’s claim about tax cuts is inaccurate at best….

Obama's current tax plan does not match ad

The Democratic party elite is worried that Barack Obama is ‘vulnerable’. He now abandons his world leader image from the failed celebrity pursuit of his world tour. He finally begins to move to domestic issues based on McCain’s lead and has been reported by AP as mirroring the failed strategy of Clinton in the last days of the Democratic primary. His only challenge to those seeking the truth about him is expressed in ‘cute’ stories and campaign rhetoric that resolve nothing. He was in lock stop with the far left from the beginning and is trying to appear as someone he is not.

Sen Harry Reid If the previous post does not show you that Senator Harry Reid is a contradction then understand he said they would not cut and run in Iraq or raise taxes. Right at the moment the tax thing is secondary. He said they would not cut and run. Senator Reid would you kindly explain the report below if you are not planning on cut and run?

US Senate Democrats Draft Plan to Revise Military’s Iraq Mission
By VOA News
23 February 2007

Democratic Party leaders in the U.S. Senate are working on legislation that would effectively revoke the 2002 resolution authorizing military action against Iraq.

Senate Democratic aides say the proposal, which is not expected to be adopted, would limit the U.S. military’s mission to training Iraqi troops and police forces, securing the country’s borders and combating terrorist forces. Regular combat forces would be withdrawn by next year.

The proposal, drafted by Senator Carl Levin, the chairman of the Armed Services Committee, and Joseph Biden, who chairs the Foreign Relations panel is set to be presented to other Democratic senators next week.

If accepted, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid would likely attach the proposal to an anti-terrorism bill. If passed by the Senate, which is not likely, the revised authorization would also have to be passed by the House and would be subject to a veto by President Bush.

Democrats and the independents aligned with them hold a slim 51 to 49 majority in the Senate, but hold a more comfortable majority in the House of Representatives.

The 2002 resolution gave President Bush authorization to take military action against Iraq, because of its alleged arsenal of weapons of mass destruction. In a speech last week, Biden said the original resolution is now irrelevant because the WMD program did not exist, and former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein is “no longer there.”

The bill is the latest effort by Senate Democrats to challenge President Bush on his Iraq policy. A vote on a non-binding resolution criticizing Mr. Bush’s plan to deploy an additional 21,000 troops to Iraq failed in the Senate, but was passed in the House last week.

Meanwhile, Democrats in the House of Representatives are considering a proposal by lawmaker Jack Murtha that would link funding of the U.S. military mission in Iraq to strict conditions on troop readiness and training standards.

Some information for this report was provided by AP and Reuters.

You Go, Sean Hannity

Posted in Bush, Iraq, war, wordpress, Sean Hannity, Afghanistan, United States, Iran, Opinion, Congress on February 16th, 2007 by Stanford Matthews

warA brief congratulations to Sean Hannity on his Feb 16th broadcast. In addition to his review of freedom, democracy and the need to defend it by recounting remarks of past American leaders, he vowed to do everything he can to unseat Republicans who sign on to the Big Stupid Resolution.

This fits nicely into past positions posted here on the flaws of party politics that are currently practiced in the United States. Unchecked or unqualified support of issues as defined by party lead the public into the very predicament we find ourselves in right now.

On this issue, the Iraq war, and everything related to it, the American public and the leaders we have elected need to support the mission as it is and follow through to victory over the obvious foe. There will be plenty of time afterwards to get your pound of flesh for whatever bothers you.

For now, enough said.

Pelosi, Murtha & Hoyer

Democrats back moderate Hoyer as majority leader

By Chris Mondics
The Philadelphia Inquirer
WASHINGTON - In an early test for ethics reform, House Democrats
Thursday selected Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland as the next majority
leader, rejecting a bid by John Murtha, the longest serving House
member from Pennsylvania.

pelosi2.jpg

The vote was a rebuke for House Speaker elect, Nancy Pelosi, of
California, who put her prestige on the line by backing Murtha for the
number two post in the House when Democrats take over in January.
But it wasn’t even close.

Murtha.jpg

Dems win, there’s blood. Pelosi becomes Speaker, there’s blood. Ok,
where is the blood about Hoyer. And if Murtha was involved in the
Abscam sting, why is he still in office and not you know where?

Bush, Mexico’s Calderon to work on immigration
Reuters -
… W. Bush and Mexican President-elect Felipe Calderon
pledged on Thursday to work together for a comprehensive
solution to curb illegal immigration from Mexico …

If it was not a plot by both Houses of Congress to introduce
HR4437 knowing it would never get through the Senate, then
the fine new Senate of the 110th Congress should be able to
finish strong reform starting in January 2007. Similar to the
fact that Immigration Reform of 1986 was never enforced, in
their grand wisdom, politicians have improved on their deceit
by creating a better strategy. Work together just long enough
to satisfy mutual goals and fool the public in believing you really
give a damn. Like Democrats conceding Presidential 2004
elections by nominating John Kerry when John Edwards wsa a
much more viable candidate. Kerry was a sacrificial lamb and
the only one who did not know it was Kerry. He still doesn’t.

We hope all you smiling Democrats are enjoying your victories.
We hope all you Republicans are understanding your arrogance
that led to this. And we hope you both as well as all of America
is prepared for a continuation of porous borders, unrestricted
immigration and a complete breakdown of national security.

If you haven’t noticed, the resignation of Secretary Donald
Rumsfeld and previously mentioned items absolutely elated the
Muslim world. Al-Jazeera and the rest have been celebrating
since November 7th, 2006. Thank you one and all. NOT!

Continued Struggle Against Illegal Immigration

Immigration caseload pulls
Kansas judges to N.M.

The Associated Press
Monday, October 2, 2006

Wichita — Federal judges in Wichita have had to help out in New
Mexico, which doesn’t have enough judges to hear all of its illegal
immigrations cases.

Here’s an earlier piece on this located on our main site.

Based on the earlier report and this one it would appear that for
those who do not believe illegal immigration is burdensome and
expensive to the citizens of the host country……you are wrong!

Here is an example of Mexico not dealing with the welfare of
their citizens and pushing the problem on a neighboring country.

Mexico to Bush: Veto border fence bill
Monsters and Critics.com, UK - 8 minutes ago
Mexico (UPI) — Mexico asked US President Bush Monday to veto a bill to
build a 700-mile fence along the border to thwart illegal immigration

The fence idea is not the preferred interim solution largely due to
the expense and relative effectiveness. The militarized complaint
from Mexico is a load of dung. The real reason they don’t want it
is it impedes their ability to transfer Mexico’s national problem to
the United States.

Immigration Reform at the Polls

Some immigration news provided as elections near.

RALEIGH — Curbing illegal immigration is among the five issues that North Carolinians say will most influence whom they vote for in the election Nov. 7, a survey by the Elon University Poll shows.More than 12 percent of poll respondents said immigration was the most important issue facing the state. When asked which issues would most influence their votes for Congress, immigration ranked with the economy, the war in Iraq, national security and health care.

Foreigners Without Documents Say They May Leave Out of Fear
By Bill Turque and Karin Brulliard
Washington Post Staff Writers
Sunday, October 1, 2006; C07
At the Bestway Supermarket on Elden Street, where shoppers browse to merengue music and signs touting the specials are in Spanish and English, Latino customers say they don’t know much about Herndon’s new mayor or Town Council. But they do say the town’s Hispanic community was buzzing last week with the news that those in charge, whoever they are, want police to become la migra, federal immigration agents.
Congressional work is incomplete

WASHINGTON - As Congress began its final week before the midterm elections, a veteran Senate chairman was asked the question ricocheting all over town:Will Congress finish its work before lawmakers leave?

“No, just leave,” Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., said with a grin.

Not facing re-election this year, the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman could afford such candor. But the Republican incumbents reapplying for their jobs in the House and Senate will have some explaining to do on the campaign trail.

They cannot blame all the unfinished business on Democrats, Not with one of their own in the White House. Or with 11 years of uninterrupted GOP control of the House. Or with the Senate, for all but two of those years, run by Republicans.

With all the corporate influence through lobbyists, both parties
wanting cheap votes from anyone and anyway, the American
public is probably screwed after the mid terms regardless of the
outcome. The political process in this country is so out of line
that one election won’t change it. But if the voting public would
remove all or most incumbents and do it every election at least
term limits would be working. Then maybe politicians would
start listening to the public and we could slowly change things
for the better. But that may only be a dream. Sad if it is.

We Have a Request for Sean Hannity

Random Thoughts As They Occur:

Mr. Hannity, you had a caller today stating job creation during President Clinton’s administration and you disagreed and asked him for evidence. He replied he had none and you ended the conversation.

Shortly after, you had a caller criticizing CBS 60 Minutes and you agreed with him but did not ask for evidence as you did with the caller you disagreed with. You then added your description of 60 Minutes through over the years and at least implied they treated Repubilcan administrations different than Democrat and provided no evidence to support your claim.

We do not agree or disagree with your claim. We would simply ask you to hold yourself to the same standard of evidence you required of the caller you disagreed with.

With no supporting evidence, we think keeping Martina McBride’s music in your show’s opening is GREAT.
