Clinton Supports Troops by Aiding the Enemy

Pentagon says Clinton boosts enemy morale

WASHINGTON — The Pentagon told Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton that her questions about how the U.S. plans to eventually withdraw from Iraq boosts enemy propaganda.

In a stinging July 16 rebuke to a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Undersecretary of Defense Eric Edelman responded to questions Clinton raised in May in which she urged the Pentagon to start planning now for the withdrawal of American forces.

Hillary Rodham ClintonWith the exception of insurgents, terrorists and a few other crazed individuals, no one likes war. With many repeating polling data indicating about 70% of the American public wants the US out of Iraq, it is safe to say everyone would like the US to be out of Iraq. Point being, no sensible human being favors war. And probably more than 70% of Americans want the US out of Iraq. But that does not necessarily mean wanting out of Iraq favors surrender. Peaceniks and realists alike could probably agree that victory in Iraq is the most favorable reason for leaving.

Even those strongly opposed to the war have cited the possibility that Iraq will fall into complete chaos on exit of US military forces at the present time. It has also been suggested that during an exit under present conditions, the US military would be at its most vulnerable and present an irresistible opportunity for terrorists.

Yet the woman so many believe has the best chance to be President next time around is Hillary Rodham Clinton. And her position on the war in Iraq and immediate withdrawal attracts no complaints from her fans. But it does attract the ire of those charged with direct responsibilities over military matters including the troops. So this is the choice of those most opposed to victory in Iraq and few in the general public favoring Clinton have the courage to draw the line on dangerous rhetoric from the NY Senator. That is truly disappointing. That there are Americans who have so little respect for doing the right thing even if it runs contrary to their opinion of who should be the next President.

The Democratic party has determined their only chance at political survival is their surrender stance on Iraq. And Democrat voters are not smart enough to see they are being used by the very party they support. If you cannot draw the line on political ambition before it adversely affects national defense and security you have no justification for being involved in public affairs or anything having to do with the future of this nation.
