Clinton/Obama Slugfest Stoked by Nowak

HRC
If Robert Nowak’s story about Hillary Rodham Clinton having ’scandalous’ information about Barack Obama raises as much angst as his story about who leaked Valerie Plame’s undercover CIA status the latest scrap between Clinton and Obama could be with us for some time to come.

Okay, there’s some political juice with the Kerik story and Giuliani, various stories about Thompson and McCain and the push-polls and attack phone campaigns leveled against Romney.  But the Dems keep stirring up mud between each other that is the one thing they’re doing better than Republicans in the 2008 race.  While this is going on the GOP can calmly go about their business selecting a nominee.  There’s a better than even chance the current bickering among Democratic party contenders may take a toll with at least one candidate, maybe all.

ObamaObama fired back at reporters on the Nowak story suggesting the reports are short on substance and long on the typical political hack journalism ‘the last couple of decades.’  Funny how similar situations bring a different response and tone from the left when a conservative is the target.  But perhaps the conservatives are licking their chops at the possibility that current political damage will be sustained by the opposing party.  There is little doubt the ugly weapons are being unleashed almost exclusively on the left for now.

Clinton’s somewhat wounded campaign is reaching for the last strategy they had by again describing Obama and pointing fingers as another example of his inexperience.  How convenient for the voters that Clinton would remind us she feels superior in the experience department.  Vicarious experience may be the only kind she has with the exception of having more than one term as a Senator.  To measure the strength of that accomplishment is to understand the GOP did not contest her campaign in NY and it was selected based on the blueness of the area.  As evidenced by her aristocratic tendencies, on re-election she bragged about wasting $29 million dollars on a campaign against an unknown sacrificial lamb.  There’s some real fiscal restraint.  Donors money, taxpayers money, to her it is all the same and you are entitled to waste it if you choose.

Obama and Clinton clash over ’scandalous information’
by Mike Dorning

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa–The two leading Democratic presidential campaigns clashed on Saturday as Barack Obama accused rival Hillary Clinton of spreading unfounded innuendo about him while Clinton advisers suggested he had naively allowed himself to be baited by a Republican-leaning journalist.

It’s NOVAK—you know, the one who should be in prison or in Dante’s Inferno (sower of discord).

  4. John Says:

This is going nowhere absent new “revelations” from Novak. Obama fell for this when did you stop beating your wife story, Clinton outflanked him very adroitly, by late afternoon Obama was running for hills. It’s why Clinton is going to be the nominee and virtually unstoppable.

  5. Stanford Matthews Says:

Two point out my typo and one expresses support for Clinton. Whatever.
