Dick Armey Has a Lot of Nerve and Little Sense

In political campaigns and politics in general all you have to do is say something and no matter how you camouflage it the underlying effect will be there regardless of an effort to appear innocent and honest.

For Dick Armey to raise an issue described as the ‘bubba vote’ he cannot escape the fact he is playing the race card. The term for this tactic is reprehensible. Whatever his intentions are there is no excuse for it and he should know better. Apparently that is not the case.

I will not withdraw my support for the McCain/Palin ticket just because Dick Armey suggests I am a racist for not supporting the Obama/Biden ticket.

Armey: ‘Bubba vote’ to hurt Obama

By Richard Wolf and Martha T. Moore,
USA TODAY ST. PAUL

The “Bubba vote” and underlying racism will hurt Democrat Barack Obama in key battleground states such as Ohio and Pennsylvania, former House majority leader Dick Armey said Wednesday.

“The Bubba vote is there, and it’s very real, and it is everywhere,” Armey told USA TODAY and Gannett News Service. “There’s an awful lot of people in America, bless their heart, who simply are not emotionally prepared to vote for a black man.

Republicans are praying for bubba to vote against obama. Levi is a bubba.

  2. Stanford Matthews Says:

It would be reasonable to suggest that the GOP wants everyone to vote against Obama and likewise the Dems want everyone to vote against McCain. After all, elections are competitions as well as political events. Your ‘Levi’ reference is especially telling. According to Armey you are voting against Obama and guess why.

  3. Kulese Says:

The GOP needs the bubba vote because people who are about issues are not about mcclain/palin. And what did the Levi reference tell you? He proclaims himself as a redneck. I am voting for Obama.

  4. Kulese Says:

The bubbas are not voting for McPalin, they are voting against Obama. Same as the fine women who are not voting for MCPalin as much as they are voting against Obama for not choosing Hillary.

Armey is entitled to his opinion just as you are entitled to your’s. My opinion on ‘bubbas’ in general is that they are not inclined to participate in elections.

Most Hillary supporters according to both sides are not likely, in large numbers, to vote for the GOP ticket although a swing in the women’s vote from an 8% lead for Obama to a 12% lead for McCain, a net chg of 20%, does raise a question or two on the call of pundits.

You’re voting for Obama. Good for you. You are engaged in the process.

Thanks for stoppin’ in and for the comments.

Where is Dick Cheney during this election and the financial crisis? Where are Bristol and Levi going to school at? What are they now hiding? When are they getting married? Did Sarah STOP the Bridge or did Congress Stop the funding? Is a BAILOUT the same as a SURGE? It seems both are used after the situation gets completely out of hand.
