Hillary Rodham Clinton’s Pursuit

Hillary 1984
Some headlines from this week are provided below. It is an interesting group if only because a search term of ‘Clinton’ produced the search engine results. And no, it wasn’t from Google. The recurring themes of issues in the 2008 Presidential race and how HRC’s rivals are responding to her Democratic front runner status are companions to several stories about First Ladies.

Laura Bush defining her policy role and the story that must make the Queen of Cringe grit her teeth. That’s right, if HRC is aware of Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner and the thumping her rivals received, the anxiety of a loss must keep her up nights. Especially with the added drama of a major stumble in this week’s debate and HRC’s rivals upping the ante. If thinking about other successful women as heads of state like Margaret Thatcher, Golda Meir or Indira Gandhi was difficult to overcome, a current successful woman in politics could fracture her ego. Besides, she already wears the classic stereotype of pursuing ambitions on someone else’s success… Bill’s.

A Republican in college until she met Bill. In favor of invading Iraq until she was criticized for it. Said she was from Arkansas until getting elected to the Senate meant being from New York. Now calls herself a ‘centrist’ while she panders to the fringe left. Now she’s ready to give a driver’s license to every illegal. The wheels may come off this campaign yet.

Let’s not forget about her dishwasher donors, Norman Hsu, Willie Tan, Chinagate, Travelgate, Whitewater, the locked docs and an abundance of other baggage not reconciled. Add to that her husband’s unofficial rap sheet and the test for voters is to maintain sufficient integrity to reject this candidate for President.
