How to Support the Troops This Week

This week starting Monday July 9th the Congress has intentions to display their lack of courage again. They have nothing on the line in comparison to the troops in combat. But apparently some of them are more concerned about political considerations than doing the right thing. Senator Orrin Hatch appears as one of the few who believes the arrangement at least through the summer should be honored. He has quietly appealed for allowing General Patraeus to complete the current mission in Iraq and file his report as planned.
Those not so quiet, Senators Lugar, Hagel, Voinovich and a few others, continue to help the terrorists and insurgents by duplicating the sickening sound of the surrender crowd. They don’t even have the courage to honor the current arrangement.
As with the amnesty bill and its defeat last month, this post serves as a request to anyone reading it to call, fax or email every Senator who is failing to support the troops and victory in Afghanistan and Iraq. A heavy dose of public opinion jamming up phone lines in Washington will likely have the same effect as it did for defeating amnesty. This time we need to defeat those who wish to surrender. So take a few minutes out of your day this week by calling Senators who do not support the troops. You can start with Lugar, Hagel and Voinovich.
