NAFTA Benefits Whom?
The only noticeable effect of NAFTA to the average consumer is the increase in the number of agricultural products stocked at the grocery store with ‘hecho in Mexico’ or ‘product of Mexico’ listed on the package. If the labels belong to well known American corporations and the price indicates no savings, does that mean the only advantage of NAFTA is to the corporate bottom line?

WASHINGTON, March 1, 2007 - Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns today announced his travel to Mexico City, to discuss final implementation provisions of the North America Free Trade Agreement with Agriculture Secretary Alberto Cardenas and Economy Secretary Eduardo Sojo, and to renew the U.S-Mexico Consultative Committee on Agriculture.
