New Hampshire Secretary of State Says New Hampshire Primary Could Be In 2007

MANCHESTER, N.H., May 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — In an exclusive
interview with Victory NH, New Hampshire’s Secretary of State, Bill
Gardner, suggests how New Hampshire will respond to the latest changes in
the presidential primary calendar:
“We’re absolutely determined to protect our primary, and we will. So if
that means having our primary on a date other than the date the DNC would
like us to, we’re going to have it at a time that does protect the
tradition - even if that means it happens in 2007.”
In his most extensive interview in over 30 years as Secretary of State,
Gardner speaks out on: how New Hampshire became first in the nation, why it
is uniquely qualified to begin the process of picking our presidents, and
what he will do to protect New Hampshire’s tradition.
The interview, exclusive to Victory NH’s new website,
http://www.ProtectOurPrimary.com, kicks off the next phase of their year-long
Protect Our Primary campaign - an effort to educate the candidates, the
media, and the country at large as to why it is in the best interest of all
Americans for New Hampshire to remain first in the nation.
The Protect Our Primary campaign is led by more than 200 “Primary
Defenders” - students from high schools and colleges across New Hampshire,
who regularly engage and enlist the support of presidential candidates for
protecting New Hampshire’s traditional first in the nation role.
ProtectOurPrimary.com currently features hundreds of photos with the
candidates wearing the group’s Protect Our Primary stickers, along with
quotes, commentaries (from Rudy Giuliani and Newt Gingrich), and video
endorsements from the presidential candidates, members of the media, and
former presidents.
“Victory NH is truly honored that Secretary Gardner has both supported
our Protect Our Primary campaign, and has entrusted us with this interview
that we believe will become the common reference point as the ‘primary
debate’ continues to heat up in the months ahead,” said Harry Levine,
Co-Founder of Victory NH. “His help in launching ProtectOurPrimary.com is
certain to bring the efforts of our Primary Defenders to the attention of
the country at large.”

  1. Steph Says:

They can have their primary whenever they want but it’s not going to change anything as far as when the new president is elected and sworn in… unless they want to tangle with Constitutional Amendments and whoever does that is asking not to be elected for another term… except for people like Kennedy and Byrd who keep getting elected ad nauseum.

People are already experiencing campaign fatigue. They are hearing a lot of nothings for months now. I expect a lot of eeny meeny miney moe when people enter the voting booths.
