Obama and the MSM: Sunday Talk Show Agenda
Sunday Talk Shows feature guest choices that do not puzzle or bewilder.
Given President Obama’s long overdue decision of sorts on Afghanistan as an attempt to placate his base with an exit strategy and date and everyone else with tentative support for US national security and the troops still there has his crew making the rounds.
The guest list for Meet the Press features Hillary Clinton and Robert Gates. Also on the list is Senator John McCain.
The guest list for This Week features, go figure, Clinton and Gates. Also on the list is Senator Russ Feingold.
And the guest list for Face the Nation features more Clinton and Gates.
Who knows what the strategy for Fox News was. They have Sens. Durbin and Cornyn with General Petraeus and the producer for the Kennedy Center Honors.
CNN has Sens Feinstein and Kyl along with national security adviser James L. Jones, Mitt Romney and the tag team of Matalin and Carville. No real surprise there.
Other programs feature even less well-known or relevant guests. Apparently the liberal agenda item now known as health insurance reform, aka, healthcare reform is taking a back seat to military matters and Obama’s base appeasement. First the President is compelled to appease nations around the planet with his world apology tour and now he tries to appease his own base.
The rhetoric will not likely convince anyone of anything and it would be nice if he could muster an authentic and honest support for those serving this nation in our military. Add to that an abrupt halt to the apology tour and appeasement policy and a return to defending our nation, protecting national security as well as promoting economic and other domestic policy that speaks to traditional values and we might have something.
But don’t hold your breath.

BTW, note to George Stephanopoulos, Clinton, Gates ‘only on This Week’…. hardly.
