Open Trackback Review

No Meaning ImpliedThe inaugural Open Trackback Linkfest occurred on Blog @ MoreWhat.com only recently. Shortly after that we began posting Open Trackback Review. It has weighed on the posting routine and time schedule and although it seems a worthwhile endeavor, its longevity was in question. Ah, but then, don’t you know, Maggie posted a comment that was complimentary and that is all the encouragement necessary for another attempt to fit this in da blogging.

Now it’s not that we need encouragement to post reviews but it doesn’t hurt. And as long as we’re on the subject of compliments let’s spread it around a little. If memory serves, Maggie, in case you don’t know, from Maggie’s Notebook } Conservative Blog, was the first to grace us with her presence since our long overdue blog promoting started. I’ll abandon the chronology here since I might get it wrong. We published some rather uncomplimentary posts on Microsoft that got Perri Nelson’s attention. I’ll make you look for the posts/comments, but it is not what you think. Like grown-ups we expressed our differing opinions and had a decent discussion. I’m sure it is not over yet and as a matter of fact, Perri’s last post was even more interesting. Check it out. Ya, I’m busy, you have to look it up but it’s worth it. So Maggie and Perri were our first residents on the Honor Roll.

More refreshing commentary was next offered by Angel from Woman Honor Thyself and DragonLady from, go figure, DragonLady’s World. We didn’t let it go to our heads, well I didn’t, but Dumb Ox Daily News referred to Like the Last OneBlog @ MoreWhat.com as ‘great blog’. Must have been drinking but we gracefully accepted it anyhow. All the aforementioned bloggers made it to the Honor Roll. They all passed our extremely simple test. Just post a meaningful comment and you make it. Of course, the minimum requirement was easily exceeded. And we even met someone for the first time thru the comments that made it to the Honor Roll. Please welcome A Voice of Reason to da roll.

Then a rather strange occurrence developed related to trackbacks and being the link whores that we are, something had to be done. It seems there’s a snag in the machinery ignoring trackbacks sent from this Wordpress to others Haloscans at Blogger. The jury is still out on that one since we don’t have time for that problem either. So I did the next best thing and asked Faultline USA for a reciprocal blogroll entry. Done deal. So that rounds out the current six on the Honor Roll. I suppose I should return to the primary topic of trackback post reviews. So here we go.

A relative newcomer tracking back to us is Irate Nation. If this was a different day’s review I could actually offer commentary but on this particular day, Irate Nation tracked his open trackback like we sometimes do and there is little to discuss. Except a rather abrupt, business-like and humorous (whether intended or not) warning near the top of the linkfest details. Here it is. ‘No link to this post, and the trackback will be deleted.’ Any questions? :-)

Not Enough OfIt hasn’t failed yet. Conservative Cat is always a good read. This day’s offering is on science fiction/fantasy books. Bruce claims to consume more than his share of printed material, okay, consume here means read. His observation on the state of this genre’s available titles leaves him dismayed and he could use your help. I’m guessing there is no time limit on the help since he’s been at this for a long time. The descriptions make this the expected Cat post.

The Florida Masochists KotD is another judge, technically an even half dozen. Although the first one is the central character in this parade of idiots. Must have a lot of knuckleheads in Florida. Apparently, this judge thinks he can do what others are not supposed to or he just doesn’t care. Read the post, copy the names in case you’re ever busted in Florida. for anything. We wonder how TFM will fare if ever in trouble in the Sunshine State. It is the Sunshine State yet isn’t it?

This would be another reason we whored ourselves to get Faultline USA to link exchange. The trackback problem was just an excuse. This is, to use my current favorite word, OUTSTANDING postdom. It is a crosspost. I don’t like that word, reminds me of cross dress and this is starting to sound like a Craig Ferguson monologue. But the real important part here is Jim Simpson, check the impressive resume, is onboard with an Alphonse Gore story that certainly trumps anything you’ve heard lately. It even comes with historical references. Check it out if you haven’t already.

BuckyIf you want to get your dander up, wander over to The Pirate’s Cove for a little renewal on some other important matters. A little bit of worthy news media appraisal from the post titled ‘World Can’t Wait vs Bill O’Reilly’. It is an enjoyable escapade complete with video on the more stellar and notorious fringe left graduates.

A little raunch license for me here. All around a pig’s ass is pork. You fill in the blanks.. All around an Muslim or Islamic is That is how bad I will start behaving if the post at stikNstein…has no mercy is what we can expect to be tolerated in this PC crazy, greedy, scaredy cat, piece of world we’re allowing to develop. This story is about work, being employed, customers, culture and the new appeasement lifestyle that plays right in to the hands of the terrorists. If they came from tyrannical nations where limbs were lopped off for the offense of theft, why are we coddling them? Go read this. Really.

Right Voices has always given me the impression their just about ready to lose it. A little bit edgy sometimes. A little borderline ‘ damn, there really gonna start something’. And the comments section there is quite strong. Sometimes I think, settle down people, but most of the time I recognize strong feelings generate strong speech and unapologetic opinions. The piece on Joy Bahar that includes Rosie O’ Donnell BS will make your head spin. They almost make sense but then take a huge LEFT turn and screw up the only intelligent thought they might have had.

Life in the SwampTo be fair, I am only reviewing here one post per blogger in a given linkfest. At least until I determine how to do this more efficiently. So don’t take it personal.

Next up is Maggie. This post forced me to leave a brief mild rant on Maggie’s blog. It is about the border agent story. I am not going to say much about the content. That is because I don’t want to spoil it for you. I was compelled to immediately finish reading those days ago for a real good reason. It’s got ups and downs but the ups are worth the downs. Talk about a couple of guys getting mashed for the embrace all others crowd, even if the others are criminals. Check it out. I hope it affects you as it did me. Serious work, Maggie.

Angel got my attention. I didn’t get crazy while reading her post but I did find it hard to read since my head kept shading in disbelief. No matter how many times I read posts on this subject, I simply cannot believe how stupid things are getting. Angel’s post is the kind of ‘veil’ story that made me use the title ‘Please Lord, Make It Stop’ on one of my posts. Hey Angel, I don’t know for sure since one cant’ hear someone’s writing, but it ‘feels’ like you might be a bit angry yourself from time to time when you write. Is that possible? :-)

KidSix to go, I have to take a break. Be back in a minute or two. Anybody want a beverage, now’s the time to get it.

I’ve been spending more time at Planck’s Constant. Their March 14th Holiday item was the fantasy payoff. But this day’s selection, like others echoing the spirit, is like a call to arms. The Gathering of Eagles is a profound statement and as many have remarked, much ignored by the press, broadcast news and many of those who claim to be Americans and yet fail to stand up. Planck’s Constant does another good job complete with pics. Worth a stop.

If you ever thought there was a real chance to convince terrorist thugs that there are other options, forget it. If this story from The Amboy Times does not prove to you they are incapable of feeling or compassion or any other redeeming quality of the human species, you are sadly mistaken. They are a band of low lifes displaying the ability to render serial killers merciful. They are in fact the epitome of evil worse than a serial killer even if their acts are similar. Don’t believe me, check this post out. They deserve nothing from the rest of humanity. This nearly exceeds Hitler but then the anger of the moment can cause one to use superlatives excessively when there is always another trump card in the deck.

Don't Worry, Be HappyBlue Star Chronicles lightens the load a bit with a piece on one of my favorite groups, the Kurds. These folks are not weaklings. Just taking a pounding in recent history. They have been dumped on by just about everyone and yet they keep hanging in there. There are some good strokes from BSC on this under-reported subject. Not only the Kurds but the good news and those who try to squelch it for their own purposes. Give it a look. It’s good.

The Diary of a Mad Pidgeon and I passed a few comments back and forth on the subject of privacy and remaining anonymous on the net. He features some news about alarming events that happen to people every day. Along with this is the question of how we act, what we do and the effects on others we may overlook. Privacy, anonymity and civility are the topics of the day. Stop in, have a read and wish him a happy long weekend. Okay, maybe not so long but wish it anyway. Always some thought provoking posts from the Mad Pidgeon.

J esus I H ave A D eathwishIt’s funny how the few times this review has been offered has evidence of telepathy or something. Too many occurrences of people being on the same wave length for it to be random. That thought was expressed cuz the very next item is from BigDog’s Weblog and the topic is nasty visitors. By email, I don’t consider it a visitor but that’s just me and that doesn’t matter. What does matter is people and the way they react to others. Differing opinions, etc., do bring out other people’s true colors. That is in evidence with BigDogs’ post as well as parts of other posts in this review. Time to reflect on the reader. Stop in to read the BigDogs Weblog as another worthwhile offering.

Renaissance Blogger is on the road and in the South but was considerate enough to provide a linkfest and a ‘gem’ from another zone. It is nicely done and I won’t tell you what it is. Not as a tease but it would take to long to explain and would not be nearly as effective as it is in person. Take a look and then follow the link. It’s cool.

Well, that ends this edition of Open Trackback Review. Now I have to clean this bad boy up, put some lipstick on this pig and get a Muslim to post it for me. See ya all next time on Open Trackback Review. Brought to you by no one but hopefully that will change some day.

Gosh, I feel so special now. :-) And you know, if I can acutally manage to sit still long enough to write it, I got an idea for a post (with obligitory link-whore) from this one. LOL

[…] I know there are many bloggers out there who aren’t big on the “anonymous” bloggers. By anonymous I mean those who use “screen names,” like myself, rather than their real name. I can’t speak for other bloggers as to why they use “screen names” to do their blogging, but I think it’s time I explained why I do. I thought of this idea for a post reading Open Trackback Review yesterday, but got preoccupied. […]
