Most people are aware that Senator McCain’s campaign is not doing well right now. But little mention is made that on the Democratic side, John Edwards campaign may be next to fail. Months ago his name was regularly posted with leaders polling in Iowa. That strength seems to have faded. And if the fund raising in Michigan is any clue, any momentum Edwards may have had is probably fading also.

No real surprise that Mitt Romney and Hillary Rodham Clinton are fund raising leaders in Michigan.

Presidential hopefuls Romney, Clinton lead in Mich. fund-raising

Romney, a former Massachusetts governor whose father was governor in Michigan, raised just over $620,000 in Michigan during the April through June reporting period, according to figures compiled by the Federal Election Commission.

On the Democratic side, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton took the top spot in fund-raising in Michigan away from former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards, raising $317,479 to Edwards’ $74,047. In the first quarter, Edwards had raised $147,415 in Michigan, compared with just over $111,000 for Clinton.
