Romney loses a key backer to Thompson

Mitt RomneyWhile it may raise eyebrows that Rep Marsha Blackburn is leaving the Romney campaign as a senior advisor, it may not be a problem at all. As a state legislator, Blackburn earned points for a ‘tax revolt’ in 2000. Recently she has denied plans to run for governor and is getting involved in the global warming fray. It may simply be a matter of Blackburn viewing the Thompson campaign as more valuable to her politically than the Romney campaign. If that is true, then losing her to the Thompson campaign may be a plus for Romney.
