Sarah Palin
For all the he said, she said reports circulating about Sarah Palin this blog had chosen to wait and see what developed in terms of retractions or corrections and the like. Recently, reports that indicate McCain campaign insiders were not responsible for the latest collection of stories trashing Gov Palin is why this blog has chosen to weigh in now.
Whether the McCain campaign insiders did or did not contribute to the Palin-bashing is more or less irrelevant. If you think about it, every candidate is subject to a certain amount of bashing as it is just part of the game, sad to say. It may be testament to Governor Sarah Palin’s immense popularity that she received what many conclude was the lion’s share of media abuse and if not certainly a tremendous amount of it.
The idea of her possibly running in 2012 for President may find some of you puzzled. For those of you who are the following observation is presented. Barack Obama rose to the national spotlight for the first time, based on media reports, at the 2004 Democratic party convention for a speech he gave. In four short years he became President-elect. It is noted by many if not all that this was a tremendous accomplishment and of historic significance. Sarah Palin burst onto the national scene in 2008. She has accomplished at least the following…..
One related note and one aside about the report above. It was presented by Rasmussen Reports. The related note is below indicating an after the election report about the accuracy of Rasmussen’s polls. The aside is that this blog has often presented Rasmussen data or referred to their polling as it had been believed here they are quite spot on. This information was presented to support the notion that one historic event could be followed by another in a surprisingly similar fashion. Perhaps after the election of the first black President the election of the first woman President will follow in much the same way as Barack Obama’s achievement.
Sorry Hillary, at least from the view at this blog we still hope the first woman President is not you.

Excellent. I was put off by McCain’s belly-aching in 2000, and I am again put off by it. She is correct. THEY ARE JERKS. I just had to let it be known how I feel about this smear campaign against her AFTER the election. THEY STARTED IT. Not me. They can go to…
How are you doing? Well, I pray. Have a great week.

I hope that Sarah will believe in sex ed that includes the use of condums and not just abstinence. After all she now has a daughter who has to get married to a boy who publically said that he didn’t want children.

McCain is spineless. If it is his staff dissing Palin, McCain had to have a hint that this might happen, and he certainly had to a have hint about which staffer(s) are responsible.
I was shocked at Carl Cameron’s report on this - not that he reported it, but that he reported it in the way he did. He was gleeful and giddy. It was ridiculous from a reporter who seems to believe that his job is of some importance.
It really didn’t matter if it was true or not. It seems these people might have ably brought on a tantrum or two.

Rosemary, LOL, that combo of words makes me think, bi-polar.
Addison Clark, there are many who support the condom thing and many who support the abstinence thing. Here’s my take. Just because you give someone a condom doesn’t mean they will use it. But giving it to them may be viewed by the recipient as approval from the provider. There is no guarantee they will use it or use it properly if they do. Kids, the heat of the moment, laugh if you want but mistakes happen. Abstinence may be misunderstood. There are many limits by law, policy or custom, etc., which require a person to reach, for lack of a better standard, a certain age for engaging in specific activities. The logic being one needs the tools of reasoning afforded by being on the planet for some time to act with some intelligence that may be available the longer one has been around and learned. Parents teaching their children that there is a time and place for all things is not a bad idea. That doesn’t mean it will always be successful but we must continue to attempt to develop sound judgment in our children. To abandon the effort is foolish. To never try, absurd.
Yo, Maggie, some reports have convinced me that the McCain camp may in fact not been the ones circulating the trash on Palin. The jury is still out and the reports could be a smoke screen but I have faith this entire situation is similar to many other political stories this campaign season in which all is not as it seems.
Thanks again folks for stoppin’ in and the commentary. You know I love it.
