SF Chronicle Report Exception to MSM Rule
There is at least one writer from one media outlet who shares the contention that the attacks on Sarah Palin are being orchestrated by the Obama campaign while Obama himself tries to appear innocent.
Not that it probably means anything to Carolyn Lochhead of the SF Chronicle but Blog @ MoreWhat.com would like to extend a hearty thank you for presenting accounts of Sarah Palin differently than the majority of her colleagues. At best TV ratings are of limited value in an election season for anything other than understanding how much general interest there was in a program. And since the bulk of other programming is still in rerun at this time of year, watching a political event may be more of a choice about what is new than what interests a viewer. Still, Lochhead asks early in th piece if Palin’s speech will score higher than Obama’s last week. If it did it would be an ego slap for Obama. If it doesn’t, who cares?
Lochhead alludes to another stat about Palin that should count for something if true. Being the most popular governor in the United States. You must be doing something right even if you are only in the top ten. From Palin’s speech the comment on Obama authoring two books but neither a law or reform does raise the question again of what does Obama bring to the table? It would be fair to say at this point we don’t know. He has been too busy marketing his image rather than focusing on substance.
Lochhead was careful not to recount the tabloid sensationalism of other MSM outlets. But she did raise one item this blog had yet to hear about. It is surprising for as much time that has been spent viewing Palin related reports. Some question as to whether the Alaskan governor did fundraising for Stevens who has been indicted.
Overall Carolyn Lochhead’s report via the SF Chronicle appears to not be lopsided in its view. Palin receives some complimentary words as well as a reality check of her next major hurdle and her rising star effects on the campaign’s central figure, John McCain. After raggin’ on the fish wrap from the NYT and CBS it was nice to find a report that counters those journalistic offenses. Not just for this blog but for Sarah Palin as well.
Who says you can’t report the story with a level head and reasonable approach? Thanks again, Carolyn Lochhead.
