Tamar Jacoby Lobbies for Open Borders

If it was not looking bleak already due to the ineptness of federal government to secure borders, control immigration and stop pandering to employers, illegals and Mexico, the US could simply do what it rarely has. To do something right, now and secure without rewarding lawbreakers and penalizing citizens and legal immigrants.

Tamar Jacoby, LobbyistAnd if the situation has deteriorated in a couple of days enough to get McCain looking un-Presidential by dropping the F bomb, we certainly don’t need a Chamber of Commerce groupie to enter the fray representing wallets from all over the country. The reason the situation is bleak is the likely outcomes are not enforcing existing law, giving amnesty with the new so-called bipartisan (both parties screw us) compromise or letting the issue languish unresolved for an undetermined delay. If those are the only options then it will be time to retire those who did not lose their seats in the last election plus all the newcomers.

How do I know Tamar Jacoby is Chamber of Commerce sponsored? She has worked for them and says the guest worker program is the most important part of the immigration issue. If they keep this up, those of us who have no problem with legal immigrants will be less likely to maintain that position. It is about time American politicians started addressing American problems and finding American solutions. Stop worrying so much about everyone else. Whatever happened to America first in America? Anyone coming to the United States the legal way and being familiar with quotes on the subject by Teddy Roosevelt should be welcome. But what caused this mess was not following the rules. Let’s get back to it and clean up the mess and not allow it to happen again.

Monday, May 21, 2007; Page A11Immigration policy is one of the few issues that split conservatives and the business lobby. It’s the “shut the borders” pack vs. the “we need workers” crowd.

Conservative activist Tamar Jacoby has dedicated herself to bringing the two together. The outcome could determine whether key conservative members of Congress stand back and allow an overhaul of immigration law this year.
