Update: Kathy Sierra vs Mindless Minority
As mentioned in our first post regarding Kathy Sierra, if the story continues to have a life, we’re confidnet all will be explained. Here is an excerpt and link to a post offering an explanation, including accounts by those involved in one way or another. We do not know if it is accurate or not, but it certainly is interesting and why we wrote our first post suggesting details were vague.

Identity rape and mob mentality
Posted by Mitch Ratcliffe @ 10:52 am Categories: Business & Technology
Allen Herrell, one of the accused attackers in the Kathy Sierra controversy, has written a long email to Doc Searls explaining that his entire online identity has been compromised. If true, and I believe it, because I have known Allen for many years, it appears there have been many more victims here than Ms. Sierra.

Kathy Sierra and Ethics…
Convicting folks in the court of public opinion is simply wrong……

To this trackback that we have read at the bloggers site we simply say we haven’t convicted anyone in our court of public opinion. This update alone shows that. If it is not an open trackback, Mr Thought Leadership, we suggest you read it before trackposting. That would be our ‘thought’ leadership.
Pardon me, I’m a bit grumpy this a.m. Feel free to trackback again, Mr. Thought Leadership, but we resent the implication we convicted anyone.

Um, excuse me. I never did get around to writing my lengthy post, which planned to take to task this OX-BOW INCIDENT mentality that seems all the rage, as well as the anonymous behavior directed Ms. Sierra’s way.

The source for the excerpt link, as well as the excerpt, address the ‘ox bow’ concern you have. The anonymous behavior is not so anonymous. ‘Not getting around to writing’ you’ll have to resolve for yourself.
