Women in Politics, The Trio

Senator Diane Feinstein D-CAJust a little tidbit picked up on the fine search engines. It seems Blog @ MoreWhat.com and the sources in the last post on Women in Politics are not the only ones to take issue with Feinstein, Boxer and Pelosi. Ok, so this one threw in a freebie and included Al Gore. Can’t get into a discussion on Al Gore in this post. Because then I would have to remind you that fearing eminent extinction due to global warming is as wrong as dismissing the entire discussion on the environment because of it. For right now that is all the space devoted to Al Gore. The talk is on the women of politics.

The primary reason for this particular excerpt from a Montana source is for support. It is comforting that others have lumped the trio together in unflattering appraisals. You may then be less inclined to assume this post is excessively biased toward them. You could discount the fact that one or maybe even two of them would be mentioned in multiple sources for news or opinion. But the odds are quite slim that all three get bad grades from more than one place near the same time.

The focus here is on purely political assessments. It would be fair to say there is a connection both on extravagant travel arrangements as it pertains to environmental concerns and abuse of power as a politician. Recently Speaker Nancy Pelosi was criticized for her use of public funds to be transported by a C130 for 40 passengers or a C37A for 12 passengers but it was ok on the grounds of national security. So what are the details of Feinstein and Boxer on non-commercial air transportation? What are they flying in and why has no one objected?

More recently, Feinstein and other “green” senators kowtowed to Al Gore during his post-Oscar return to Washington to preach the Gospel of Carbon Offsets. But Feinstein, along with fellow California Democrat, Sen. Barbara Boxer, Speaker of the House Pelosi, and even Gore himself often ride in private jets which spew carbon like confetti at a New Year’s Eve party. Rove speculated that if 1,800 trees were planted after each coast-to-coast trip taken by the enviro-righteous to counteract the damage, that within several months Congress would have to pass a subsidy to encourage the timber industry to cut down trees elsewhere because the atmosphere was becoming too oxygen-rich.

Feinstein takes it to a new level. She is a lobbyist for her husband and is still in Congress and not registered as a lobbyist. Unique way to get around the rules. In January 2007 a press release from Feinstein’s office indicated the following:

Washington, DC – Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), in her role as incoming Senate Rules Committee Chairman, will manage floor debate on S. 1, the Senate ethics and lobbying reform bill.

Do you really think Senator Diane Feinstein should be on the rules committee and in charge of debate on the Senate ethics and lobbying reform bill with her background and record? Her husband is the beneficiary of defense contracts that Feinstein is involved with. The sources we indicated in a previous report show her behavior is catching up with her so she resigned from MILCON. Like that will interfere with hubby’s getting more contracts. So where is Senator Henry Waxman and the big bad investigation hearings when it comes to colleague Diane Feinstein and her husband’s activities? This is why the fine trio of Feinstein, Boxer and Pelosi is being repeated on this blog. It will continue and be followed up with more contacts to Washington. Would you like to participate?
